Blue Fawn Pitbull

A blue fawn pitbull is a dog with a fawn coat that has a silverish cast to it. These dogs also have red noses. The color is produced by a recessive dilution gene. When a dog inherits two copies of the dilution gene, it fades out the dog's color.

A dog that inherits the genes for a black coat that also inherits two copies of the dilution gene is a blue pitbull. Blue pitbulls are a blue-silver color and have grayish noses. A dog that inherits the genes for a brown coat that also inherits two copies of the dilution gene creates blue fawn pitbulls.
