Pitbull Dogs arer a type of dog breed that has become a common name in the household.. Some dog breeds often considered pitbull dogs are the Staffordshire Terrier, American Staffordshire, American PitBull, and Bull Terrier. 

Most of these breeds were fighting dogs create by breeding bull baiting dogs and terriers. After the use of dogs in such sports was banned, they were used for catcing cattle and wild hogs.  They were used to hunt and drive livestock and are used as family companions.

The words pitbull dogs is used loosely to describe dogs that looked similar. But the "bully breed" makes it more difficult. Therefore mixed breed dogs are mostly labeled as pit bull dogs.
